Scaffolding Steel Plank
Our scaffolding catwalk steel plank, also known as a hook-on steel walk board, is a key component in modern modular scaffolding systems. Designed with durable hooks at both ends, it allows for quick, tool-free installation by securely hanging onto scaffold ledger tubes. Manufactured from high-strength galvanized Q195 or Q235 steel, the planks feature a perforated, non-slip surface for superior traction, as well as excellent corrosion resistance and fireproof properties, ensuring safety and durability on demanding job sites.

Our galvanized steel planks are manufactured directly from pre-galvanized steel strips. The production process begins with high-quality galvanized coils, typically in grades Q195, Q235, or DX51D+Z, with zinc coating already applied to ensure consistent thickness and uniform surface finish.
The galvanized steel strip is first uncoiled, leveled, and fed into a high-speed roll forming line. Through a series of precision rollers, the strip is gradually shaped into the final plank profile, while a punching unit simultaneously creates the anti-slip perforations and reinforcing ribs on the surface. This integrated process ensures high efficiency, consistent hole patterns, and accurate dimensional control.
Next, the formed planks move to the welding station where the end hooks are welded into place using automatic welding equipment. The welding process is carefully controlled to ensure strong, secure joints without damaging the zinc coating. After welding, the finished planks pass through a final straightening unit to ensure flatness, and are then cut to the required lengths by a flying saw.
The entire production line operates with strict quality control, including dimensional checks, welding integrity testing, and surface inspection. Since the galvanized coating is already applied on the raw material, the finished planks maintain a uniform, factory-protected zinc layer throughout the forming and welding process, offering excellent corrosion resistance without the need for additional post-treatment. These planks are then bundled, packed, and ready for shipment.

Our galvanized steel planks are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive at your job site in perfect condition. Planks are stacked in bundles of 10, 25, or 50 pieces, depending on customer requirements, with each layer separated by wooden strips or rubber pads to prevent surface scratches and coating damage during transit. High-strength galvanized steel strapping is used to secure the bundles tightly, ensuring stability during handling and container loading. Each bundle is wrapped with waterproof shrink film and craft paper to provide a moisture barrier against humidity and salt spray during ocean shipping. For end protection, we offer plastic end caps to protect the hook areas. Clear labels are attached to each bundle indicating product specifications, quantity, and handling instructions. All packaging materials comply with ISPM 15 standards for international shipping.
For container loading, our experienced team carefully arranges the bundles to maximize space utilization and ensure safe transport. A standard 20-foot container can typically load approximately 300 to 500 pieces, depending on plank length and width. Planks are stacked flat or sideways as needed, with additional padding to prevent movement during transit. We also offer customized packaging solutions — including wooden crates, pallet packing, or special labeling — to meet specific project requirements. Whether by sea, air, or land, we ensure your steel planks are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

Our galvanized steel planks are versatile working platforms widely used across various construction and industrial applications. In high-rise building construction, they serve as temporary walkways and workstations for masons, painters, and electricians, providing safe access to elevated work areas. In bridge construction and tunnel projects, they offer stable platforms for concrete pouring, rebar installation, and inspection work, withstanding heavy loads and harsh conditions.
In shipbuilding and ship repair yards, steel planks are used as gangways and staging platforms, supporting workers during hull welding, painting, and surface treatment operations. They are also extensively used in industrial plant maintenance, power station renovations, and petrochemical facility turnarounds, where durable and fire-resistant working surfaces are essential.
Beyond heavy construction, steel planks are commonly found in temporary event stages, exhibition stands, and grandstand seating, providing quick-to-install, safe walking surfaces for crowds and personnel. They are also used in warehouse mezzanine flooring and cable tray walkways for access and inspection purposes. With their non-slip perforated surface, robust steel construction, and corrosion-resistant galvanized finish, our steel planks deliver reliable performance across diverse working environments – from building sites and shipyards to factories and outdoor events.
