Galvanized Square Steel Tube
Our galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes, also known as hollow structural sections (HSS), are cold-formed welded steel profiles with a hollow cross-section. Manufactured from high-quality hot-rolled or cold-rolled galvanized steel strip or coil, these pipes are formed through cold bending and high-frequency electric resistance welding (ERW), resulting in consistent dimensional accuracy and a strong, uniform weld seam.
Available in a wide range of sizes, with square sections from 10×10mm up to 400×400mm and rectangular sections from 20×10mm up to 400×300mm, wall thicknesses from 1.2mm to 20mm, and standard lengths of 6m or 12m – with custom sizes available upon request. Common material grades include Q195, Q215, Q235, Q345, SS400, and ASTM A36, manufactured in compliance with major international standards such as ASTM A500, EN 10219, JIS G3466, and GB/T 6728.
The galvanized surface treatment – available in both hot-dip galvanized and pre-galvanized finishes – provides excellent corrosion resistance, significantly extending the service life of the pipes in outdoor, coastal, or industrial environments. The square and rectangular cross-sections offer superior strength-to-weight ratios, easy stacking and alignment, and efficient integration into modular systems
Our galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes are manufactured through two distinct processes to meet different application requirements. The hot-dip galvanizing process starts with cold-formed black steel pipes, which are then immersed in a molten zinc bath at approximately 450°C to form a thick, metallurgically bonded zinc coating with excellent adhesion and superior corrosion resistance – ideal for outdoor, marine, and harsh environmental applications. The pre-galvanized (zinc-coated strip) process uses galvanized steel coils as the base material, which are directly cold-formed and welded into square or rectangular profiles. This process preserves the uniform zinc layer from the original strip, resulting in a smooth, consistent surface finish with moderate corrosion protection – suitable for indoor applications, light-duty structures, and cost-sensitive projects. Both processes comply with international standards including ASTM A500, EN 10219, and JIS G3466, offering reliable performance across a wide range of structural and construction applications.

Our galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes are manufactured from pre-galvanized steel coils through a fully automated cold roll forming process. The production begins with high-quality cold-rolled galvanized coils, which are first uncoiled, leveled, and slit into precise strip widths according to the required pipe circumference. The leveled strip is then continuously fed into a cold roll forming mill, where it passes through a series of precision rollers that progressively bend the flat strip into a round tubular shape. High-frequency electric resistance welding (ERW) is then applied to fuse the two edges of the strip, creating a strong, continuous seam. The welded round tube then enters the round-to-square forming stage, where it passes through multiple sets of specially designed forming rolls that gradually transform the circular cross-section into the final square or rectangular profile. After sizing and straightening to ensure precise dimensions and straightness, the finished tube is cut to specified lengths by a flying saw, and finally bundled and packed for shipment. Since the zinc coating is already applied on the raw coil, the entire forming and welding process preserves the uniform, factory-applied protective layer, eliminating the need for post-forming galvanizing

Our galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes are stored in well-organized warehouses and stacking yards, sorted by size and thickness for efficient inventory management and quick order fulfillment. For packaging, pipes are bundled in groups of 5-50 pieces (depending on size) with high-strength galvanized steel strapping, and kraft paper or plastic film is placed between layers to prevent surface scratches and coating damage during transport. End caps are fitted to protect pipe openings and edges, and for extra protection, bundles are wrapped with waterproof cloth or shrink film to shield against humidity during ocean shipping. Container loading is carefully planned – bundles are arranged flat in 20ft or 40ft containers, securely braced with wooden blocks and steel strips to prevent shifting. Large orders can also be shipped by bulk vessel. All packaging materials comply with ISPM 15 export standards, ensuring smooth customs clearance. We also offer customized packaging solutions – including wooden crates, pallet packing, or special labeling – to meet specific project requirements. Whether by sea, air, or land, our professional packaging and shipping ensure your pipes arrive in perfect condition.

Due to its excellent structural strength, aesthetic appearance, and ease of fabrication, square and rectangular steel pipe is widely used in various construction and industrial applications, particularly where structural support and visual appeal are required. Unlike circular pipes, square and rectangular sections are primarily used as structural components rather than for fluid transmission, as the sharp corners create stress concentration points and uneven flow dynamics that are unsuitable for pressurized liquid or gas conveyance.
1.Building and Construction Structures – Square and rectangular steel pipes are extensively used as load-bearing columns, beams, and support frames in industrial workshops, warehouses, high-rise buildings, and steel-structured buildings. Their uniform cross-section provides high strength-to-weight ratios and excellent resistance to bending and torsion.
2.Steel Frames and Trusses – Used in roof trusses, portal frames, and space frames for large-span structures such as stadiums, exhibition halls, and aircraft hangars. The closed section offers better torsional rigidity compared to open sections like I-beams or channels.
3.Welded Gates and Doors – Square and rectangular tubes are ideal for manufacturing heavy-duty industrial gates, sliding gates, security doors, and entrance frames. The flat surfaces allow easy attachment of hinges, locks, and infill panels, while the clean lines provide a modern appearance.
4.Fencing, Railings, and Barriers – Widely used for perimeter fencing, handrails, guardrails, and crash barriers in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The rectangular profile is easy to install, provides strong impact resistance, and offers a neat, professional finish.
5.Agricultural and Greenhouse Structures – Used as framework supports for greenhouses, livestock shelters, and storage sheds. The corrosion-resistant surface and high durability make them suitable for outdoor agricultural environments.
6.Furniture and Display Racks – Employed in manufacturing steel furniture, shelving systems, display racks, workbenches, and storage solutions. The smooth, flat surfaces allow for easy cleaning and a sleek, modern aesthetic.
7.Solar Panel Mounting Structures – As the renewable energy sector grows, square and rectangular steel pipes are increasingly used for solar panel mounting frames and tracking systems, offering stability and weather resistance.
