Galvanized Steel Strip
Galvanized steel strip, also known as galvanized steel tape or slit galvanized coil, is a carbon steel strip that has been coated with a protective layer of zinc through either a hot-dip or electro-galvanizing process. This zinc coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, extending the service life of the steel in various environments. The product is characterized by its high strength, good ductility, and smooth, bright surface. The zinc layer bonds metallurgically with the steel substrate, becoming a permanent part of the material rather than just a surface sealer, ensuring durable and reliable protection. Galvanized steel strip is an essential raw material for countless industrial, construction, and manufacturing applications.
Our galvanized steel strips are available in a wide range of dimensions, grades, and finishes to suit diverse project requirements. The following table outlines the typical specifications:

The production of high-quality galvanized steel strip involves a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process. The process begins with a cold-rolled steel strip substrate, which undergoes thorough surface preparation: first, it passes through electrolytic cleaning and pickling to remove rolling oils, iron oxides, and surface contaminants. The cleaned strip is then annealed in a controlled atmosphere furnace to restore the steel's ductility and prepare the surface for optimal zinc adhesion. After annealing, the strip is continuously passed through a molten zinc bath at approximately 450-460°C, where a metallurgical reaction occurs between the iron in the steel and the zinc, forming a series of zinc-iron alloy layers. As the strip exits the bath, a system of air knives (high-pressure air jets) removes excess zinc to precisely control the coating thickness and ensure a uniform surface finish. After cooling, the strip undergoes post-treatments such as chromate passivation, oiling, or anti-fingerprint coating. The finished galvanized strip is then inspected, recoiled, and ready for slitting or further processing.

Our galvanized steel strips are packed using seaworthy, export-grade methods to ensure the integrity of the zinc coating during transit. Coils are securely strapped at multiple points (typically 4 or more places) with high-strength steel strapping to prevent movement and damage during handling and shipping. For added protection against moisture, salt spray, and handling damage, reinforced wrapping with waterproof paper, plastic film, and wooden battens is applied. Packaging materials comply with ISPM 15 standards (using heat-treated wooden pallets and cases) for international shipping. Each coil is clearly labeled with product specifications, grade, coil weight, and handling instructions. Coils typically weigh between 3 and 10 tons, with inner diameters of 508mm or 610mm. Standard delivery time is within 30 days by container and within 50 days by bulk cargo ship. Bulk cargo shipping options are also available for large orders. Customized packaging solutions are available upon request.

Galvanized steel strip is a highly versatile material with a wide range of applications across multiple industries.
